An application for a Basic Assessment will be submitted to the North West Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism as the competent authority for decision making.

It is the intention of the proponent to construct an integrated grid connection to connect the proposed Onderstepoort Solar 1 and 2 PV Facilities to the national grid via the existing Ngwedi Main Transmission Substation, approximately 30km north-west of Rustenburg.  The grid connection solution will entail the development of a double-circuit 132kV power line traversing RE/2/98, RE/3/98, 13/98, 8/98, RE/2/96, 7/96, 10/96, 14/96, 19/96, 23/96 and 24/96.  Associated infrastructure includes a collector substation, access tracks/roads, administrative buildings and laydown areas.  The grid infrastructure will be developed within a 100m wide and 11km long corridor.
