An Application for Full Scoping & Environmental Impact Assessment relating to the proposed Rand Heights Solar PV Facility and Integrated Electrical Grid Connection Infrastructure will be submitted to the National Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) as the competent authority for decision making.
Proposal: The proposed Rand Heights Solar PV and Integrated Electrical Grid Connection Infrastructure entails the following:
• One (1) x up to 216MW Solar PV Development with associated infrastructure including a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
• Loop-In-Loop-Out Electrical Grid Connection to facilitate the connection of the proposed Solar PV Facility to the National Grid.
Location: The proposed development site is located approximately 10km north of the City of Mbombela and directly west of the R40 provincial road on the Remaining Extent of the Farm Boschrand Heights 766 JT.
